SHOREVIEW, Minn., and TORONTO, On, December 11, 2018. Maxwell Healthcare Associates (MHA), a post-acute operational, financial, technological and regulatory consulting firm, today announced Swift Skin and Wound as its exclusive digital wound care management solution of choice for MHA home health clients.
The partnership comes just a few weeks before the January 2019 rollout of new Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rules surrounding pressure ulcer prevention and management, including OASIS-D quality measures.
“At Maxwell, we believe technology is key to not only surviving but thriving amid constant regulatory changes and reimbursement cuts,” said MHA co-CEO Tom Maxwell. “We began searching for a wound care management technology for our clients and found it in Swift Skin and Wound — the only solution designed specifically for home health, allowing home health clinicians to document in and out of the home.”
“As we evaluated solutions, we wanted one that was easy to use but was proven in the industry,” Maxwell added. “More than 1,000 organizations already use Swift for better clinical, financial and operational outcomes. Publicly reported data shows up to 16% of all homecare patients are diagnosed with wound care needs. Our home health clients — and, more importantly, their patients — need this tool. We’re excited to help bring it to them.”
Swift Skin and Wound significantly improves clinical and administrative wound care management workflows through: the Swift app, which captures wound care information as easily as taking a picture; the Swift HealX, an FDA-registered adhesive marker that calibrates wound images for size, color and lighting; and Swift Dashboards that display real-time healing and treatment to help clinicians and administrators identify risks immediately and improve care.
“We know MHA’s clients are among the most sophisticated in the home health and hospice space and we’re excited to work with these trailblazers to transform wound care management,” said Swift Medical CEO Carlo Perez. “And of course, we look forward to working with MHA, whose deep expertise in post-acute EMR systems will bring even more value to our users.”
Between 14% to 16% of all home care patients have surgical or chronic wounds, noted Maxwell. With its new partner, MHA can help clients leverage Swift Skin and Wound to better treat patients’ wounds and improve care quality while decreasing costs and reducing paperwork.
This is MHA’s third partnership announcement this year. The first two featured collaborations with home health coding and analytics enterprises.
“We founded MHA with a mission to help home health and hospice providers gain efficiencies by bridging people, process and technology,” said MHA co-CEO Jennifer Maxwell. “We partner with the best technology vendors in the industry and work with providers to ensure their people and processes are aligned to maximize those technologies’ benefits.”
