At the beginning of each month, we take time to reflect on successful efforts in past projects, looking specifically at processes and decisions that contributed to the MHA Difference. Around this time, we touch base with our senior leadership team to nominate a specific consultant who went above and beyond in their work, representing MHA in light of excellence as they help the team and clients reach new levels of success. With MHA’s vast roster of industry-leading experts, this is no easy feat. Yet, after careful consideration, the team named Steve Wolters as Consultant of the Month for April!
Steve joined MHA in October of 2021 as a consultant focusing on implementations and staff support. In addition, Steve provides expert assistance with Help Desk and Staff Augmentation. “Steve is wonderful to work with. He brings a willingness to learn the job, which results in timely and creative solutions to any issue,” said Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance at MHA, Kimberly Mulquin-Shumway about Steve’s contributions on site. “His dedication to success on the job is impressive; we know clients are well prepared with Steve nearby,” said Mulquin-Shumway.
Background
Steve is from Grand Rapids, Michigan where he enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and relaxing with his wife, two children, and the family pets. Prior to working for MHA, Steve spent a decade in the hospice sector as a bereavement and spiritual care specialist, providing support to families in need. After receiving his MBA, Steve sought opportunities to further expand his skillset in the post-acute industry. Cultivating his strengths towards the business side of post-acute, Steve found MHA. Throughout his experience, his knowledge has grown exponentially, allowing for a wider range of responsibilities while giving him more free time with his family.
MHA Experience
As an MHA Consultant, Steve specializes in implementations and integration support. This responsibility allows him to draw from his prior experience in the hospice field while assisting agencies in increasing productivity and success. Throughout his job, Steve enjoys the opportunity to work with a tightly knit team while actively improving processes and satisfaction for clients.
Steve’s favorite MHA core values are both “EQ over IQ”, and “Team First”, as he says they are things he has actively tried to pursue in his own career and life. Steve believes these values build on each other, and being surrounded by like-minded people has increased his sense of teamwork, satisfaction, and success throughout his time at MHA.
We asked Steve what his favorite part of working with MHA is and he said: “MHA has provided me an outlet to increase my knowledge while using my experience to actively improve the lives of agency employees. I feel like I have acquired a wealth of knowledge while working alongside some of the industry’s best.”
We’re glad to have you, Steve! Keep up the great work and congratulations on your nomination!
