Once again, we have reached a new month. At the beginning of each month, countless projects wrap up and start anew. Around this time, in the spirit of tradition, we connect with our senior leadership team with the hopes to honor a consultant that went above and beyond. We focus on an individual that illustrates the MHA Difference either onsite or in the office through their work and life. With our extensive team of well-equipped professionals, this is no easy task. However, after careful consideration and discussion, Malissa Reshke-Milanese has been named Consultant of the Month for March!
Malissa joined MHA in 2018 as a consultant focusing on EMR implementation, due diligence audits, staff augmentation, and general optimization. Throughout this time, she has worked on many jobs, navigating throughout a vast array of issues and resolutions. “Her (Malissa’s) resilience is phenomenal. She stays focused, supporting the staff through any issue that arises,” said Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance at MHA, Kimberly Mulquin-Shumway about Malissa’s performance. “Her integrity is commendable. With Malissa on a job, we know our clients are in good hands,” said Mulquin-Shumway. Malissa’s positive attitude and resilience leads to quick resolution of issues and continued success with clients on any job.
Background
Malissa is originally from Bradenton, Florida, and is married to an Italian national from Genoa. Malissa’s family lives and maintains homes in both Genoa, Italy, and Florida. Malissa has been an RN for 30 years. Prior to working with MHA, she worked in both acute and post-acute care sectors as a practitioner. Eventually, in the post-acute world, she worked on a team implementing a 300-branch change from paper documentation to Homecare Homebase at a large home health agency. The things she learned in the implementation world of post-acute care gave her the cutting edge to begin as a consultant with MHA. Outside of work, Malissa enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures, as well as spending time with her four children and two grandchildren.
MHA Experience
As an MHA Consultant, Malissa specializes in due diligence, process optimization, and EMR implementation. She draws from her vast history as an RN in choosing these specialties, although implementation is her major area of expertise. Throughout her job, Malissa enjoys the opportunity to communicate with agencies while assisting them in seeing their problem from the bigger picture.
Malissa’s favorite MHA core value is “EQ over IQ” because she’s noticed many problems encountered on the job can be remedied by understanding the client’s perspective. Beginning with a mutual understanding, then moving forward with a patient explanation not only forms positive professional relationships but allows for wonderful long-lasting solutions to actualize.
We asked Malissa what her favorite part of being on the team is and she said: “MHA has given me the opportunity to meet the most interesting people, work with the greatest teams, and learn from everyone in the industry. I truly believe that shared knowledge helps improve the post-acute world”. We’re glad to have you, Malissa! Keep up the great work and congratulations on your nomination!
