Once a month we honor one of our consultants that truly embodies the culture of MHA. This month MHA recognizes Gina Creel as Consultant of the Month for February. She is acknowledged for going above and beyond, meeting multiple competing deadlines, mentoring new consultants on chart reviews, and contributing to strategy on multiple projects for MHA.
Gina started with MHA back in May of 2017 after she managed to read a post on LinkedIn that Tom Maxwell, MHA Co-Founder, was in search of individuals with experience in HCHB. She sent over her resume and the rest is history.
Background
Gina became an RN back in 1974, worked as one of the first school nurses in Rapides Parish (Alexandria, LA). She spent many years in a hospital system as a medical-surgical nurse and Oncology nurse for ten years in the VA hospital system. She moved back to Louisiana in 1994 to pursue a career in the home health field. Prior to joining MHA, Gina worked as a COO for a home health provider in Louisiana for 13 years.
Gina currently resides in Biloxi, Mississippi, where she enjoys spending time with her family, three daughters, two granddaughters, one grandson and one great granddaughter. In her free time, she loves watching movies, reading, and dancing.
MHA Experience
As a consultant, Gina teaches classes related to HCHB, provides implementation support, and delivers post implementation support for both home health and hospice. She specializes in all aspects of home health and hospice issues related to COPs, State/Federal regulations, HCHB, Pointcare and the back office. She also participates in due diligence-chart reviews on our M&A team. When asked why she likes working at MHA, Gina said the following, “Being able to travel to different states/cities and the flexibility of picking my own work schedule is a plus. I get the opportunity to assist clinicians/office staff as they learn new software, understand the process of change, share my knowledge, and of course work with my fellow MHA consultants.” Gina is admired amongst our MHA leadership team. “She is always a rockstar and very dependable,” said Bailey Woodhams, Senior Consultant.
“Words cannot express how much I enjoy working with Gina. I admire her ability to be a great team player and a strong cross-collaborator,” said Kevin Jones, Director of Field Operations. “Gina brings to MHA a wealth of home health knowledge, and she goes above and beyond in making you aware of the latest regulatory changes. She inspires me with her work ethic and tenacity,” said Jones.
Thank you, Gina, for all that you do for MHA! We appreciate you so much! Congratulations!
