Consultant of the Month | Amy Sharkey

We are thrilled to continue our incredible way of honoring our consultant Rockstars who have shined and stood out in their work during the past month. For May's honors, we have nominated Amy Sharkey, to receive Consultant of the Month.
Amy joined MHA in September 2021. In just a few months as a consultant, she caught the eyes of our new senior consultants. "Amy is detail-oriented, reliable, and a genuine pleasure to work with. She is happy to help the team meet deadlines and exemplifies great leadership qualities when working with both clients and fellow consultants,” said Keri Shockley, Senior Consultant. “It's a pleasure to work with her and have had nothing but positive feedback from our customers," said Shockley.
Background
Before joining MHA, Amy was a hospice RN for 14 years serving as a Case Manager, Supervisor, Executive Director, and finally a Clinical Integration Specialist, all with the LHC Group. Amy was born in New York, grew up in Connecticut, and resides in North Carolina, making her an East Coast girl. She has two adult children, a 29-year-old son in the Navy Reserves and a 27-year-old daughter with a Degree in Cyber Security. She’s also a grandmother to an amazing six-year-old grandson.
Amy enjoys crafts and gardening and has a deep passion for DIY home renovations; basically, taking anything old, and making it new, beautiful, and valued again. Amy also has a love for traveling! She’s been to some very exciting places and some very small towns in her career. Whether it’s Reno, Nevada, or Holly Springs, Mississippi, Amy always finds the local coffee shop and restaurants, as well as some local historical sites. She loves the opportunity to meet new people and learn what they love about where they live and what they do.
MHA Experience
As an MHA consultant, Amy helps implement Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and provides remote support. Amy has been the on-site lead and room lead for remote support. Amy strives to learn all she can and help increase her range of knowledge including revenue cycle and informatics. She is dedicated to any assignment she is given and works hard to produce the highest quality results.

We asked Amy why she likes working for MHA and here’s what she had to say: “The team is so wonderful! I love working for MHA because the Vice Presidents and Senior Consultants are always available to answer any questions and assist with any problems. They are very encouraging and so appreciative; I feel very valued working at MHA”
